LIGHTWORKS PARTNERSHIP

Simultaneous with the availability of the Linux version of ARES, Graebert also announced today a partnership with Lightworks (Sheffield, UK), the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software. Lightworks’ acclaimed rendering technology is embedded in more than 80 software applications and is a mission-critical solution used by more than 3 million customers worldwide.

ARES is one of the first CAD products to be integrated with Artisan™ SnapShot Studio, a new application for the quick and easy generation of photorealistic images from 3D CAD data that also provides pre-configured workflows. Using ‘drag, drop & render’ styles for ease of use, Artisan is currently available on the Windows platform, with a Mac version to be released later this year. Details can be found at http://www.lightworkdesign.com/. Artisan SnapShot Studio is aimed at use in the entire design process, allowing users to quickly try out various material combinations and lighting conditions before moving on to final design decisions and final quality imagery. Artisan allows multiple SnapShots to be previewed, generated and available for offline rendering – this is accomplished using a combination of hardware-based OpenGL® real-time rendering for set-up and review along with powerful, fully scalable CPU-based rendering for high-quality raytraced and global illuminated images.

“We are very excited to be working with Graebert, one of the most respected and innovative names in the CAD industry,” said Dave Forrester, CEO of Lightworks. “ARES has achieved tremendous mindshare in a very short period of time and we are proud to add their name to the list of major vendors who integrate with our acclaimed rendering technology.”

“Having an optimized, native Linux solution completes the ‘trifecta’ of operating system support promised by Graebert earlier this year – we are now the first and only vendor offering a complete 3D CAD design workflow across every major desktop operating system,” said Wilfried Graebert, CEO and founder of Graebert GmbH. “Integrating with the photo-realistic rendering technology offered by Lightworks brings a whole new level of 3D excellence to ARES and we are very excited to be among the first to integrate with Artisan.”
